The Medusa Festival in Cullera, scheduled from August 13 to 17, will boast a spectacular main stage: a 3D replica of a seven-story 17th-century pirate galleon.

This structure, measuring 18 meters wide and 24 meters high, will be the focal point of the musical event. Despite its large dimensions, equivalent to a seven-story building, the organization has indicated that it will be approximately 50% smaller than the actual size of these ships 400 years ago.
The scenographic project, considered "unprecedented" in the Spanish live music circuit, will be erected on dry land. DJs will perform from a cabin installed at the ship's waterline. Behind them, a strip of LED screens will project images of waves breaking against the hull, creating the illusion that the galleon is sailing the sea. Both the deck and the masts will be equipped with spotlights and moving head lights to enhance the visual experience.
The design team of the Valencian festival, led by creative director Ado García, has studied numerous models of pirate, corsair, and buccaneer ships from the 17th and 18th centuries, the golden age of piracy in the Mediterranean and the Antilles. Ultimately, they have chosen to recreate a Venetian-style galleon, with two masts and a sterncastle. The ship will have a steel frame and will be covered with wood, cork, and fabric, giving it a very realistic appearance. In total, it will weigh 16,000 kilograms, and construction work will begin in June.
This giant ship will be one of the major attractions of the twelfth edition of the Medusa Festival, taking place on Cullera beach, in La Ribera Baixa. However, it will not be the only stage where music can be enjoyed. Across the eight stages of this musical event, all decorated with fantastic themes, 150 DJs will perform, including international stars such as Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas, Steve Aoki, and Carl Cox.
