The president of Ford Europe visited the Almussafes factory for the first time since taking office in November 2025. The official purpose was to meet the team, and he emphasized the plant's crucial role in the transformation strategy of the automotive business in Europe.

Despite the positive words, the Works Council president confirmed that no major news or announcements were made during the visit. The Almussafes plant currently has a two-year temporary employment regulation file (ERTE) in effect for its entire workforce of 4,142 employees, which is set to expire in 2026.
This ERTE is linked to the planned launch of a new multi-energy vehicle from Valencia, announced two years ago. This model, which will not be 100% electric, did not receive specific details regarding its production volume or characteristics during the visit. Further meetings are expected in the coming months to advance these matters.
Currently, production at the Valencia plant has significantly decreased, with only the Kuga model in manufacturing. Meanwhile, discussions continue with the Chinese company Geely for the production of electric vehicles in Europe, an opportunity for which Almussafes is positioning itself as a candidate to avoid tariffs.
