Alberto Núñez Feijóo was invited by Vicent Mompó to the PP lunch for the province of Valencia in Sueca. Initially, Feijóo thought it was a midday meal, but he discovered that the 'esmorzar', as he admitted, is a mid-morning break to continue working, not a meal around two in the afternoon. The event began around 9 AM.
The idea of 'the Spain that wakes up early' has been associated with the PP, especially in the context of these lunches. Juanfran Pérez Llorca remarked: "This is the Spain that wakes up early, Vicent Mompó's Spain, which has summoned us at 9 in the morning." Although he hinted it might be a complaint about having to wake up early, he countered that "it provides us with breakfast," which satisfied those present.
The presence of PPCV officials in Sueca was numerous, including Toni Pérez and Marta Barrachina, provincial presidents of Alicante and Castellón respectively. The organization estimated the attendance at around 1,300 people. Feijóo and his team left with a box of sandwiches, which included options of potato omelette and longaniza with pisto, as well as a selection of cheeses from La Llosa.
The start of the lunch was delayed, as speeches took place before eating, unlike the usual custom. The atmosphere was relaxed, with Mompó in shirt sleeves and background music that included artists such as Nino Bravo, Rosalía, and Sonia y Selena. Outside the venue, a band of teachers and victims of the DANA expressed their discontent with the Consell.
