Tuesday, April 28, was a day of gratitude and recognition for UNED Castellón. In an intimate ceremony held at his home, a professor received a plaque honoring his dedication to the institution and his efforts to bring education to those who needed it most.
The trajectory of this university center in the province of Castellón reflects a vision ahead of its time, initiated by this educator. His commitment to the UNED Senior program, which began in Vila-real as a little-known initiative, marked a turning point in the concept of education for older people.

Thanks to his leadership, the UNED Senior program not only took root in the province of Castellón but also spread throughout Spain, becoming a benchmark for active aging and lifelong university education.
His legacy is also evident in the structural growth of UNED in the territory. The consolidation of the current headquarters in Vila-real and the promotion of initiatives in municipalities such as Benicarló laid the foundations for a more accessible university connected to its environment.
Today, UNED Castellón continues to build on these foundations, strengthening and expanding the programs that defined the initial project, especially the senior offerings. The institution, under current leadership, is recovering and strengthening the institutional relationships that enabled UNED's growth in its early stages, consolidating a network of collaboration in service of the citizenry.
