The STEPV union, representing 53% of Valencian teachers, has opened a new front with the Conselleria de Educación following the remuneration agreement recently signed by the consellera Carmen Ortí with the unions CSIF and ANPE. The agreement provides for a salary improvement of 200 euros until January 2028, but STEPV doubts its actual implementation.
While the Conselleria defends the proposal as "very ambitious", the spokesperson for STEPV, Marc Candela, has openly expressed his reservations, suggesting that the negotiation could generate instability in public remuneration. The Conselleria, for its part, has indicated that it would like to advance in the talks so that the increase becomes effective in September 2027.
The agreement includes a progressive development over 15 months: 75 euros in September 2026, 75 euros in January 2027, and the remaining 50 on January 1, 2028. Furthermore, it will be integrated into the regional complement and will be subject to revaluations of 4.5% in 2027 and 2% in 2028, with the possibility of reviewing new increases in 2028 depending on the financial situation of the Comunitat Valenciana.
Marc Candela has questioned the budgetary commitments based on statements by the consellera and has announced that the union will demand immediate clarifications. "We want to know and we will ask about it in the next meeting of the sectoral table", he warned, calling the situation "a new farce" and reminding the administration of its obligation to comply with what has been signed.
