The Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta has organized a conference in Alzira to celebrate its 30th anniversary, bringing together regional museums and European experts to discuss the modernization and digitalization of cultural heritage.

The event, organized by the Mancomunitat's Heritage department and the Alzira City Council, with the support of the Interreg Learning Platform project, featured six international experts. These professionals came from Ireland, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and their objective was to address the common challenges faced by museums today.
Among the regional museums that participated in this initiative are the MUMA of Alzira, which hosted the session; the Valencian Festival Museum of Algemesí; the Valencian Museum of Natural History of Alginet; the Museum of History and Archaeology of Cullera; the Espai Joan Fuster of Sueca; the Casa Museu de Patrimoni of Turís; and the Living Orange Museum of Carcaixent.
During the conference, fundamental topics such as modernization strategies, collaboration between cultural institutions, citizen participation, economic challenges, tools to attract new audiences, digitalization of collections, event organization, communication, and the creation of online spaces were discussed.
As a result of this meeting, a document of recommendations for the modernization and digitalization of the Ribera museums will be drafted. The aim is to implement the proposed suggestions and carry out subsequent monitoring to ensure that regional museums adapt to contemporary challenges.
