The PortCastelló delegation, led by president Rubén Ibáñez and director Manuel García, held a dozen meetings. It was confirmed that the port's extensive surface area is one of its key commercial attractions, along with the connectivity that the new southern rail access will provide. The port's potential for special cargo operations, such as wind turbine blades, was also highlighted.
Adding to this expansion potential is the future industrial and logistics expansion zone of 2.1 million square meters for the LogistiCS project, an ambitious platform driven by the Castellón City Council and the port, with the railway as a strategic backbone.
PortCastelló's commercial strategy in Rotterdam aims to consolidate its position in the general cargo segment, where the port is experiencing its highest growth. In May, the port of Castellón saw a 52% increase in general cargo compared to the previous year, and a 66% increase year-to-date, handling 863,550 tons.
“"The enormous interest generated by operators at Breakbulk demonstrates that our roadmap is correct. We have available space, an unbeatable location, and, above all, ongoing rail connectivity that will revolutionize our competitiveness in the Mediterranean."
