Escola Valenciana highlighted that the day was a resounding success, with the participation of 110 educational centers and entities committed to teaching in Valencian. The emblematic Sants Patrons avenue in the capital of Ribera Alta was filled with 160 workshops, offering a wide variety of activities for all audiences.
The celebration began at 10 AM with a massive civic parade, led by the gegants i cabuts (giants and big-heads) of Les Raboses and the escoletes infantils (children's schools), carrying the banner "We are the future". The Banda Jove de Alzira accompanied the procession, creating a festive and protest-filled atmosphere. One of the most emotional moments was the unveiling of the official banner for the 'Trobades 2026' with the slogan "We have history, we are future".
Popular culture had a prominent presence along the linear kilometer of the 'Trobada', with performances by the Nova Muixeranga de Algemesí and the Muixerangues de Alginet and Algemesí. Additionally, the cultural offerings were complemented by an exhibition dedicated to the Year of Jaume I at the Casa de la Cultura.
“"The 'Trobades' are an opportunity to advance inclusive, quality education in Valencian; to assert our language against the 'unculture' that some wish to impose on us. Language unites us, and the Generalitat Administration should work to improve opportunities for young people, not to promote imaginary linguistic borders."
The city of Alzira fully committed to the organization, with the direct participation of the 20 educational centers in the municipality. Local officials described the event as a "memorable day" and a "fundamental element of social cohesion", emphasizing the commitment to a more just society. The 160 workshops offered everything from traditional games to innovative proposals, showcasing the pedagogical richness of the Ribera region. The festival concluded with a concert by the group Ramonets, which had thousands of families dancing.
The next 'Trobades' of Escola Valenciana 2026 will be held in various locations, including Beniparrell (May 9); Massalfassar (April 23 and 26); Llocnou d'en Fenollet, Orxeta and Dénia (May 9); Crevillent and València - El Saler (May 10); Riba-roja de Túria (May 16); l'Eliana (May 22); Sagunt (May 23 and June 6); Ibi and Potries (May 30). The organization thanks the support of regional coordinators, Parents' Associations (AFA), volunteers, and entities such as the Universitat d'Alacant (UA), the Universitat de València (UV), the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), and the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) de Castelló, among others.
