This closure is part of a growing trend in the city, where several traditional businesses have shut down in recent months. Pressure from franchises, large brands, and a lack of generational succession are contributing factors to this situation in Castelló's commercial sector.
Among the businesses that have recently said goodbye are Indian, a clothing store on Colón Street, Manolo's shoe repair shop on San Blas Street, and Almacenes Monfort, which completed its closure process in the summer of 2025.
La Cambra dels Vins, which had been operating since 1996, was known for its product offerings and for organizing tastings on its upper floor. Furthermore, it actively participated in the Ruta de la Tapa Sabores de Castelló, where in the 2024 edition it received the award for best pairing.
Despite this closure, the city has seen the opening of new wine-focused establishments, such as Vinalium on Ruiz Zorrilla Street, Senderos del Vino in Huerto Sogueros Square, and Le Clos Celler on Poeta Guimerá Street.
