Compromís councilwoman Vera Bou warned that "the action has yet to materialize, even though the council had told residents that this summer would bring a definitive solution to the noise problems." "As of today, they still have no guarantee that the acoustic barrier will become a reality," she stated.
The councilwoman pointed out that resident discontent is growing and warned that mobilizations could occur if the acquired commitments are not met. "Residents are tired of waiting and of unfulfilled promises. If the City Council does not take them seriously, they will end up organizing to defend their rights," she declared.
Compromís is thus echoing the demands made by the Boulevard Blasco Ibáñez Residents' Association, which continues to request detailed information about the programming planned for Refeyme. According to Bou, the residents' association has long sought a list of scheduled events and a comparison with other municipal venues to verify if the commitment to avoid concentrating activity in this venue is being respected.
The councilwoman also recalled that the municipal government had pledged to present the technical specifications for the acoustic barrier tender to resident representatives before its publication to reach a consensus on its content. However, she assures that, on the cusp of summer, no documentation has yet been provided.
"Residents have participated in meetings, made proposals, and waited patiently, but they continue to face delays and a lack of information," lamented Bou.
Finally, the Compromís representative warned that the residents' association is considering promoting mobilizations if the City Council maintains the current lack of response.
