The Municipal Group Compromís per Castelló has denounced the deterioration of the cultural policy of Begoña Carrasco's government. The party regrets that this summer the 'Dilluns al Ras' cycle, promoted by the Manuel Babiloni Foundation, will not take place, and that the Fadrí remains closed despite announcements of its repair.
Compromís councilor Pau Sancho has criticized the Partido Popular for abandoning the city's culture, depriving Castelló of one of its most consolidated cultural proposals and keeping one of its main heritage symbols closed.
Sancho recalled that this year marked the tenth edition of Dilluns al Ras, a musical cycle organized by the Manuel Babiloni Foundation that for a decade has filled July nights and pays homage to a prominent figure in Castelló's culture. The councilor finds it incomprehensible that, precisely on its tenth anniversary, the City Council has decided to stop collaborating with the foundation.
Compromís believes this decision highlights the lack of a stable cultural project by the municipal government, which seems to prioritize grand announcements over initiatives that work and have the support of the sector and the public. Added to this situation is the delay in the reopening of the Fadrí, which remains closed despite the mayor announcing weeks ago that it was already repaired.
For the councilor, this is another example of a government more concerned with photographs and headlines than with fulfilling its announcements. Compromís calls on the municipal government to restore collaboration with the Manuel Babiloni Foundation so that 'Dilluns al Ras' can return to the cultural programming and to explain the reasons for the Fadrí's closure.
