The municipal group Compromís in the Castelló City Council has criticized the investments announced by the Generalitat Valenciana for the city, warning that they confirm "three lost years" and the lack of commitment from the PP and Vox government.

Compromís spokesperson, Ignasi Garcia, stated that the projects included in the budgetary forecasts “are very far from the real needs of the city and, in many cases, are limited to announcements or preliminary procedures without any guarantee of execution”.
In educational matters, Garcia lamented the Generalitat's lack of response to the need to expand Vocational Training in Castelló. He recalled that, at Compromís's proposal, the City Council's plenary session approved an institutional declaration requesting the expansion of the IES Vicent Castell, but today only resources are being announced to draft a project.
Garcia criticized that the Valencian government “seems more concerned with reaching the next elections with a model under its arm than with executing the investments the city needs”, and denounced the paralysis of other strategic educational infrastructures such as conservatories.
However, the harshest criticisms focused on the situation of the new General University Hospital of Castellón. Garcia denounced a “drastic reduction in the announced investments”, going from an initial forecast of 600 million euros to only 141 million in the multi-year forecast.
“We are talking about a quarter of what was announced. Obviously, we are facing a real scam that shows that this major project is not a priority for the government of the Popular Party and Vox,” stated Garcia, who defended the need for a “transformative hospital, with individual rooms and adapted to 21st-century care standards”.
Finally, the Compromís spokesperson criticized the role of the mayoress, Carrasco, in this situation, accusing her of prioritizing the interests of the Popular Party over those of the city.
