The contest, developed in collaboration with the Seminari d’Educació Ambiental de Castelló, aims to foster environmental education, critical thinking, and knowledge about the circular economy among students through artistic and educational projects.
This edition saw participation from schools across the province, with high-quality projects demonstrating the educational community's commitment to sustainability. The Chair's director, Félix Hernández, highlighted the importance of practically transferring environmental knowledge to younger generations, noting that young people are aware of current environmental challenges.
Reciplasa president, Sergio Toledo, emphasized the schools' involvement and education's role as a tool for social transformation, stating that 'the best investment we can make towards a more sustainable society is education'.
The winning centers this year include CEIP Carlos Sarthou Carreres from Vila-real (Early Childhood Education), CEIP Pintor Camarón from Segorbe (Primary Education), IES Juan Bautista Porcar from Castelló and IES Vicent Sos Baynat from Castelló (Secondary Education, ex aequo), and the Public Special Education Center Penyeta Roja from Castelló (Special Education).
The awards ceremony, held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Health Sciences, was attended by Hernández, Toledo, Reciplasa's technical director, Fernando Albarrán, and the UJI's Vice-Rector for Innovation, Transfer, and Territory, Marisa Flor, who concluded the event.
