Castellón has formally requested LaLiga to play the first two matchdays of the upcoming season away from home, as reported by various media outlets.

The club's request stems from the need to carry out renovation works at the SkyFi Castalia, particularly concerning safety, to meet competition requirements. These works include the creation of an Organizational Control Unit (UCO) with a closed-circuit television system, public address, and telecommunication links, as well as the installation of high-resolution cameras and a security room to oversee surveillance, access control, and emergency management.
In addition to safety improvements, the entity also plans to construct a new VIP area in Tribuna Alta, renovate the changing rooms, and expand the players' gym this summer.
The official calendar for the 2026/27 season will be revealed on June 30th at an event in Madrid. The regular season of the Second Division will conclude on June 6th, with the promotion play-offs taking place between June 9th and 20th.
