Alzira has unveiled the program for the Sant Bernat festivities, taking place from July 17th to 23rd, with La Fúmiga's farewell concert as the main attraction and all events being free.

The farewell concert by La Fúmiga has been confirmed as the main highlight of the Sant Bernat festivities program in Alzira. The schedule, running from Friday, July 17th to Thursday, July 23rd, the patron saint's day, maintains free access for all events and will be spread across five different venues in the city.
The Councilor for Festivities, Gemma Alós, along with Mayor Alfons Domínguez and Culture Technician Jordi Verdú, presented a program that features diverse shows, including tributes to artists such as Rafa Sánchez (singer of OBK), Nino Bravo, Camilo Sexto, and Francisco, under titles like 'Voces del Mediterráneo-Mi tierra' and 'The Legends'.
The festivities are returning to their usual schedule, avoiding overlap with Cullera's Zevra Festival. The program kicks off on Friday the 17th with performances at the Parc Pere Crespí and a concert by Rafa Sánchez, OBK, and Tenesse at the Espai d’Oci La Fúmiga (formerly the Fairground). Saturday will feature a children's show, the 'Voces del Mediterráneo' tribute at the Plaça Major, and the Remember festival at the fairground.
On Sunday, Pep Gimeno “El Botifarra” will perform at the Plaça del Carbó, while the fairground will host the Reggaeton Festival with José de Rico. On Monday the 20th, the Plaça Major will present a tribute to Manolo Caracol, Antonio Molina, and Juanito Valderrama, and the orchestra La Pato will perform at the fairground.
On Tuesday the 21st, the Plaça de Cartonatges will host a children's musical, and the Plaça Major will welcome Noelia Zanón with her show 'Deseo Mexicano'. The eve of Sant Bernat will be marked by La Fúmiga's farewell concert, with expectations of drawing over 15,000 people.
Sant Bernat's day will feature the 'The Legends' show and a fireworks display. The approximate budget for the festivities is 420,000 euros. Mayor Alfons Domínguez highlighted the quality and diversity of the program, aiming to establish Alzira as a regional benchmark with events for all ages.
Culture Technician Jordi Verdú noted the production's complexity due to the variety of venues and compared the festivities to current festivals, acknowledging competition from other events and high artist fees. Councilor Gemma Alós reiterated the commitment to free access and mentioned that while suggestions are considered, some requests are impossible to fulfill.
