Under the slogan “Tenim història, som futur” (We have history, we are future), these annual celebrations aim to energize Valencian language education and bring together the educational community. The first event will be on Saturday at 10:30 AM in Vila-real's Plaça Major, where a parade will begin, followed by workshops. At 12:00 PM, the group Canta Canalla will perform a concert, including this year's anthem, Xiulaballariu, a participatory march encouraging everyone to celebrate the language with pride.
On Sunday, the Trobades will move to Ribera Alta and Valls del Vinalopó. In Alzira, the festivities will start at nine in the morning with an institutional reception at the Casa de Cultura. At ten, there will be a parade with the Raboses, giants and big-heads, and the Escoletes Infantils (Children's Schools) will begin their activities on Avinguda dels Sants Patrons, accompanied by the Banda Jove d'Alzira. Throughout the day, workshops, performances, a gastronomic day, and award ceremonies will take place. The group Ramonets will close the celebration at 5:15 PM.
In la Romana, activities will also begin at nine in the morning with a gathering and a popular breakfast in Plaça de Gómez Navarro. The parade will start at ten, and half an hour later, welcome speeches will be given. Between eleven and one, there will be traditional Valencian games, entertainment, and storytelling. Dani Miquel i els MaMeMiMoMúsics will perform at one in the afternoon.
“"The motto invites us to gather strength for the coming years, with the experience provided by a consolidated trajectory in the defense of the language, but at the same time, it makes us focus on the future for which we continue to work collectively."
This year's motto, “Tenim història, som futur,” refers to nearly forty years of recreational street activities that have energized Valencian language education. Upcoming gatherings include events in Massalfassar next weekend, and in Lloc Nou d'en Fenollet, Orxeta, Dénia, Crevillent, el Saler, Riba-roja de Túria, l'Eliana, Sagunt, Ibi, and Potries during the month of May.
