This action, amounting to 444,829.89 euros (VAT included), has been granted to the company Modular Normalizada. The process was carried out through a framework agreement, a system that pre-establishes technical and economic conditions with several companies, forcing them to compete again in a specific tender.
The technical report from the Public Sector Contracting Platform details that 15 modules are planned, distributed in classrooms of various sizes, restrooms, and auxiliary facilities to ensure teaching activity. This figure is lower than the initial proposal from the management team, which in December last year suggested around 20 classrooms to centralize all educational activity.
The intervention includes assembly, rental for a period of 24 months, and subsequent dismantling of the facilities. The estimated time for installation is two months from the award, and they are expected to be ready before August 15, 2026, for the start of the next academic year.
Currently, students remain distributed across five locations in the municipality of Utiel, including IES Miguel Ballesteros, the Official Language School, CEIP Canónigo Muñoz, the Hospitality School, and facilities at the El Nogueral municipal sports center. This situation necessitates constant travel and complicates both academic organization and teacher coordination.
To reverse this scenario, the Utiel City Council has prepared the former skate park area, where demolition and site preparation work has been carried out. The only exception will be Vocational Training, which will continue to be taught at the Hospitality School, where the specific resources needed for these courses are maintained.
The awarding of these prefabricated modules comes after months of delay compared to the initially planned deadlines. The Ministry had committed to these provisional classrooms approximately a year ago, but the 2025-2026 academic year began without them being fully available. In parallel, last March, the contract for the drafting of the project and the construction management for the future reconstruction of the center was put out to tender.
