The city of Vila-real will transform into a large open-air stage for the 38th edition of the International Street Theater Festival (FITCarrer), taking place on the first weekend of May with a diverse and inclusive program.

This cultural event, already consolidated in the city's calendar, will bring together national and international companies, offering proposals designed for all audiences. The deputy mayor and culture councilor has highlighted the importance of FITCarrer as a historic event and its external projection, following its presentation at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR).

"The streets and squares of Vila-real are not only urban spaces, but idyllic settings that allow for the democratization of culture and foster neighborhood and intergenerational coexistence."

The municipal official has thanked the involvement of collaborating and sponsoring entities, such as the Diputación de Castellón, the Institut Valencià de Cultura, and the Ministry of Culture, as well as local companies. She has invited citizens to actively participate in this festival that seeks to bring performing arts to everyone without distinction.
The festival director explained that this year's motto, Te falta calle (You lack street), is an open invitation to three days of culture and coexistence. The program reflects a contemporary perspective, with dramaturgies that offer a snapshot of the present and address necessary topics connected to current society.
FITCarrer will feature the participation of 18 companies from the United Kingdom, Portugal, and various parts of Spain, along with a notable local presence. The festival will offer a wide range of disciplines such as theater, dance, circus, puppets, mask work, magic, and humor, with proposals for family enjoyment.
This edition will have a particularly emotional character, paying tribute to Joan Raga, a figure closely linked to the festival for years. This year's Ramon Batalla Award will also include a special surprise.
