The Vila-real City Council has opened the tender for a biennial contract worth 502,397.28 euros for the socio-educational programs 'Aplec de Temps Lliure' and 'Campus Natura', aiming to ensure quality leisure and healthy eating for minors during school holidays from 2026 to 2028.

This municipal initiative, with a deadline for applications until April 14, 2026, seeks to support families in Vila-real by facilitating the reconciliation of work and family life during non-school periods such as summer, Christmas, and Easter. The programs will not only offer recreational and educational activities but will also include a daily meal service to combat inequality and promote healthy habits among registered children in the municipality.
The project is structured into two distinct lots to address various needs. The first, 'Aplec de Temps Lliure', with a budget of 354,372.48 euros, is aimed at minors aged between 3 and 12 years and will be carried out in two public schools in the city. The second lot, 'Campus Natura', with 148,024.80 euros, will focus exclusively on students with functional diversity, offering specialized care at the special education center La Panderola.
An innovative aspect of this tender is the mandatory social clauses for the successful bidding company. It is required that at least 50% of the contracted staff be under 30 years old, and 2% of the jobs will be reserved for women over 45 years old with experience in the care sector. Furthermore, the contract guarantees equal pay between men and women and establishes strict practices to prevent food waste in the catering service.
