The Vila-real City Council has reported that nearly 3,000 waste fee files could not be personally notified despite delivery attempts, and has published the lists to prevent higher surcharges.

The municipal technical services of Vila-real have processed the publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of waste fee files that could not be personally notified. This measure applies to nearly 3,000 cases, after several failed delivery attempts at the corresponding addresses, as established by current regulations.
The council has explained that, in these cases, a 5% surcharge is applied to the amount of the bill. However, affected individuals who go to the Treasury Department, located at Josep Ramon Batalla street, 6, to collect the notification will not have to carry out any additional procedures.

If the delivery of the notification cannot be completed, the surcharge will increase to 20%, in addition to the activation of the corresponding enforcement and embargo procedures.

To manage the process, individuals must present their DNI, while in the case of legal entities, the CIF will be required. The municipal government has reminded that, during the implementation of this fee, a period of nearly two months was provided for citizens to process the foreseen bonuses. The current objective is to prevent residents from incurring costs higher than strictly necessary.
In addition to the official publication, the City Council will make public the lists of affected files in the news section of the municipal website. This will allow citizens to check if they are among the cases where notification could not be completed.
