The city of Vila-real became an activity hub last Saturday, hosting a series of events that attracted hundreds of people. The program included video game competitions and a festival dedicated to inclusion and coexistence, demonstrating the municipality's capacity to organize large-scale gatherings.
Among the prominent events, the 1st Fighting Games Championship, Versus Royal 2026, was held, with the participation of over fifty players from various parts of Spain. The winner of this tournament will secure a spot in a European competition, underscoring the event's relevance and international projection.
Concurrently, the Congress, Fair and Meeting Center was the venue for the Valhalla Games, an event that gathered nearly 500 participants. This event, featuring individual and team categories, has solidified its position as an unmissable date on the region's digital entertainment calendar.
The day also had a strong social character with the celebration of the 3rd Diversity Festival, organized by the Vilatea Association. This festival offered a wide range of children's activities, workshops, and shows, including a performance by Mago Perete, all in an atmosphere that promoted coexistence and inclusion among attendees.
The mayor, José Benlloch, along with councilors Xus Madrigal and Toni Marín, and other municipal representatives, attended the various events. The city council emphasized Vila-real's ability to host events that merge sport, innovation, and social cohesion, as well as the active participation of citizens in initiatives open to all audiences.
