This initiative, the oldest of its kind in the province, is organized by the Hospitality Department of the Vila-real City Council in collaboration with the Vila-real Hospitality and Leisure Association (ASHIOVI). The main objective is to revitalize the hospitality sector, boost local consumption, and offer a space for community around gastronomy for residents and visitors.
A total of fifteen establishments will participate in this edition, each presenting two culinary proposals. One will be a free-creation tapa, allowing restaurateurs to express their identity, and the other will be a dish featuring orange as the main ingredient, paying homage to one of the most emblematic products of the Valencian territory.
The tapas will be available from Thursday to Sunday, with general service hours from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00. Each tapa will cost 5 euros and include a drink. Participants can vote for their favorite tapas using 'tapaports', which must be stamped at a minimum number of establishments to be valid, and will be entered into a prize draw.
“"This initiative is much more than gastronomy, as it represents an example of the social commitment of the hospitality sector."
The Vila-real Tapa Route is distinguished by its charitable nature. Each participating establishment will make an economic contribution, and the total proceeds will be donated to the 1PEPA Association (Un petit pas), dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with Prader-Willi syndrome. The awards ceremony for the best proposals, determined by both popular vote and a professional jury, will take place on May 27, 2026, at the Gran Casino de Vila-real.
