The city of Vila-real recently celebrated two events with significant citizen participation within its festive program. The XXIV Communal Dinner for residents, held on May 10th at the Estadi de la Ceràmica square, gathered nearly 2,200 people. Following the popular dinner, the night was enlivened by performances from the Barrio del Hospital Residents' Association dance group and a show by El Showman del Serrucho. This activity was supported by residents' associations, the Festivities Board, the Citizen Participation Department, and sponsored by Caixa Rural Vila-real.
Furthermore, on May 20th, a new edition of the climb up the Arciprestal church bell tower took place. Organized by the Festivities Board, this activity annually attracts numerous residents and visitors interested in exploring local heritage. Participants ascended the 175 steps and 42 meters of the bell tower, learning about the clock mechanism, the bell chamber, and the building's history, while enjoying panoramic views of Vila-real. Additional information was provided via a QR code, and cut-out designs by Julio Arenós were also made available.
The bell tower climb day continued until 1:00 PM and resumed visits in the afternoon, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, offering another opportunity to experience this iconic monument.
