Vila-real is gearing up to host the 12th edition of the Orgull Friki event on June 6-7, an event expected to draw over 2,000 attendees to the Convention Center.

The Vila-real Convention, Fair, and Meeting Center will transform into the epicenter of alternative culture on June 6-7 with the celebration of the twelfth edition of the Orgull Friki (Geek Pride) event. More than 2,000 attendees are expected, solidifying the event as a significant gathering.
The Councilor for Youth, Javier López, highlighted the event's steady growth and its impact on projecting Vila-real as a "dynamic, vibrant city with its own identity." The event successfully combines family entertainment with popular culture, offering a well-established experience.
Organized by the Otakuonda Association, Orgull Friki will feature an extensive exhibition area. Artisans, bookstores, publishers, artists, and professionals will participate, offering products and services related to games, softcombat, 3D printing, role-playing games, and video games.
Among the scheduled activities are creative workshops, martial arts demonstrations, K-pop sessions, and cosplay, karaoke, and dance contests. A main stage will host performances and shows throughout the weekend.
The venue will also include a food truck area with a diverse gastronomic offering, including vegan options and choices for those with dietary restrictions. Additionally, feline rescue organizations will be present to raise awareness for their social work.
The organization expressed gratitude for the support from sponsors and the Vila-real City Council. To manage capacity, advance booking of free tickets through the Eventbrite platform is recommended.
