The Vila-real Congress Centre will be the venue for the XII Geek Pride Days on June 6th and 7th, an event solidifying the city as a hub for alternative leisure.

The Vila-real Congress, Fair, and Exhibition Centre will become the epicentre of geek culture on June 6th and 7th with the celebration of the XII edition of the Geek Pride Days. The event, organized by the Otakuonda Association, is consolidating itself as a major fixture in alternative leisure within the province, anticipating high attendance, exceeding the 2,000 attendees from the previous year.
The program, presented by the Councillor for Youth, Javier López, alongside the association's president, Desirée Díaz, and secretary Tamara Bartoll, aims to promote Vila-real as a dynamic city and a benchmark for cultural events. López highlighted the continuous growth of these days and their ability to attract families, reinforcing the image of Vila-real as “vibrant, dynamic, and with its own identity”.
The offerings will include a stand area featuring shops, artisans, authors, bookstores, 3D printing professionals, publishers, and sector artists. Various associations will animate the event with activities such as driving simulators (Kodama), workshops and games (Anime Club), 3D printing projects (Hacks CS), softcombat and archery activities (Los Errantes), board games (UJI Club), and samurai martial arts exhibitions (Minami no Saien no Bugeisha). The animal welfare groups Gats de Barri and Colonias Felinas will also be present.
Attendees can enjoy creative workshops (Hama beads, tote bag painting, drawing, Japanese cherry tree creation), video game areas (WarpZone), and role-playing and board game zones (Rat Dice). The main stage will host concerts, theatre performances, Japanese martial arts, K-pop Random sessions, and cosplay, dance, and karaoke contests. The food truck zone will offer various gastronomic options, including vegan choices and options adapted for dietary intolerances.
Entry will be free, although advance booking is recommended to manage capacity due to the high expected attendance.
