The Burriana Local Police has immobilized a vehicle with a presumably false license plate from the Netherlands, after the Document Management Unit confirmed that the plates belonged to another automobile.

Officers from the Burriana Local Police Force have initiated proceedings for an alleged crime of document forgery. The intervention occurred at dawn, when a patrol detected a car with an export license plate from the Netherlands whose format did not match the legal standards established by the country of origin, raising the suspicions of the officers.
Given these indications, the matter was immediately transferred to the Local Police Document Management Unit. After an exhaustive investigation and cross-referencing data with various European and international organizations, agents concluded that the displayed numbering actually corresponded to another vehicle. This fact could constitute a crime of public document forgery, an offense punishable by the Penal Code with sentences of between six months and three years in prison.
As a preventive measure, the vehicle has been immobilized and transferred to the municipal depot for judicial disposal. Local authorities do not rule out that the forgery of the plates aims to conceal an illicit origin of the automobile, which could lead to further legal actions for theft or misappropriation. Therefore, the report and the proceedings carried out have been sent to the Burriana Civil Guard Main Post, the competent body for the continuation of the investigation, and subsequently to the Duty Court.

"This action is an example of the work of the Burriana Local Police in ensuring legal security and constant vigilance of our streets, collaborating closely with other Security Forces and Bodies to combat any criminal activity in our municipality."
