The town of Onda will become the hub of provincial grassroots football this weekend with the celebration of the Onda Summer Cup 2026. The tournament, organized by CE Vila d'Onda, will gather more than 800 players across 60 teams, competing on June 13th and 14th.
The competition will take place at two emblematic municipal venues: the Municipal Olympic Field and the Municipal Enrique Saura Field, where young footballers from various categories will test their skills in an event featuring prominent youth academies.
The Councilor for Sports, José Vicente Iserte, highlighted the importance of this event for encouraging sports practice among young people and promoting fundamental values such as camaraderie, effort, and fair competition.
The tournament will be structured in two phases. During the mornings, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, the group stage will be held with mini-leagues of four teams. In the afternoon, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, the final phase will take place with direct elimination matches between the top two classified teams from each group.
The competition will conclude with the semi-finals, the third and fourth place matches, and the finals for each category. Subsequently, a trophy ceremony will be held to recognize the efforts of the best-ranked teams.
Saturday's matches will be dedicated to the Mixed Pre-Benjamin, First-Year Alevín, and Women's Alevín categories, while Sunday will feature teams from Querubín, Benjamín, and Second-Year Alevín.
Among the participants are some of the most outstanding academies in the region, such as those of Villarreal CF and CD Castellón, who will share the spotlight with numerous clubs from the province and other parts of the Valencian Community.
The Onda Summer Cup thus consolidates itself as one of the most important sporting events on the summer grassroots football calendar, making Onda a meeting point for hundreds of young athletes and their families.
