The city of Onda has established itself as one of the most attractive inland destinations in the province of Castellón during the Easter Week and Easter holidays. According to data collected by the municipal tourism resource network, an estimated over 5,000 people visited the town from the start of the program until the end of the celebrations.
Occupancy was high in the main tourist enclaves, especially in heritage sites such as the Castle of the 300 Towers and the historic center, as well as in the various venues where the Easter program took place. The visitor profile maintains the trend of previous years, with a predominance of national tourism, mainly from the Valencian Community.
“"Onda has become a city designed for childhood, where families can enjoy complete experiences of culture, leisure, heritage, and nature. We continue to work to offer quality programming that positions us as a benchmark tourist destination throughout the year."
In parallel, the Onda City Council continues to advance in improving the tourist experience with the implementation of an accessible audio guide system at the city's main heritage sites. Through the installation of QR codes in different enclaves, visitors can easily scan them from their mobile devices and access content in several languages, available 24 hours a day. This system allows visitors to learn about the history, cultural value, and curiosities of each space autonomously, enriching the visit and making it more dynamic and complete.
One of the main pillars of the program has been the focus on family leisure, which has positioned Onda as an attractive destination for traveling with children. The ‘Peque Pascua’ has consolidated as the main meeting point for families, filling enclaves such as the Ermitorio del Salvador or the Ceramic Park with workshops, traditional games, sports activities, and educational outdoor proposals. This offer has been complemented by the success of cultural initiatives such as ‘Puppets in the Castle’, which has brought heritage to children in a didactic and fun way.
The festive program has also been an important attraction, with events that have filled different parts of the municipality with atmosphere. The Taurine Easter, along with the Livestock Contest, has gathered thousands of fans in the Bullring. Likewise, ‘Pascua Sonora’ has brought live music to spaces such as the Party Tent and the Raval, with concerts and DJ sessions that have attracted young and adult audiences, generating a festive atmosphere for several days. Added to this were the traditional dances at the CIM Montí, cultural visits, and religious activities, forming a transversal program that has revitalized the city and reinforced its tourist appeal.
