The tourist campaign for Onda, under the slogan ‘Lo bonito de la vida está ahí fuera’ (The beauty of life is out there), has now begun. This initiative aims to encourage both residents and visitors to put aside their mobile phones and enjoy everything the city has to offer during the summer. The proposal takes the form of an audiovisual piece starring local actress Ainhoa Peris Moreno.
The video highlights the heritage, nature, culture, and experiences that make Onda one of the most attractive inland destinations in the province. The central message invites people to look up and make the most of their free time away from screens, connecting with current leisure habits.
The mayor, Carmina Ballester, emphasized that the campaign is «an invitation to experience Onda with all five senses, to walk through our streets, discover our history, enjoy nature, and create lasting memories». She added, «We want those who visit Onda to take away much more than a photograph; we want them to have experiences, disconnect from screens, and discover everything that makes our city special».
The audiovisual piece tells the story of a young woman who, initially engrossed in her mobile phone while exploring emblematic city locations, is forced by an unexpected incident to stop, put away her device, and discover her surroundings for the first time. From that moment on, the video showcases the municipality's main tourist attractions, including the Castillo de las 300 Torres, the medieval old town, the Plaza del Almudín, the Sichar reservoir, and the Sierra de Espadán, combining heritage, landscape, and nature.
This campaign is part of the summer's tourist and cultural programming, which includes concerts, cultural activities, outdoor events, and traditional celebrations. Notable events include a concert by Ana Torroja on July 31st, as well as guided theatrical tours of the Castle and historic center, routes around the Sichar reservoir and the Sierra de Espadán, and the traditional festivals of Santísimo Salvador and Onda Medieval.
Through this initiative, the City Council aims to strengthen its promotional strategy to establish Onda as a year-round tourist destination, promoting an emotional message that encourages exploration and enjoyment of an authentic city.
