The investment primarily aims to upgrade these infrastructures, considered essential for the Valencian countryside, as they facilitate access to agricultural holdings and improve safety for farmers during their daily commutes.
One of the subsidized projects took place in Les Alqueries, where six rural roads were improved with a grant of 85,508.65 euros, covering 60% of the total investment. The work included cleaning the roads, applying an adhesive, and paving with hot asphalt, covering an area of 10,110 square meters and 1,872 linear meters.
The Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock, and Fisheries, Miguel Barrachina, emphasized that "investing in rural roads means investing in competitiveness, security, and the future for our towns." He highlighted the importance of these works in reducing costs, improving access, and sustaining agricultural activity.
Barrachina praised the collaboration between the Generalitat and the local councils, which are responsible for tendering and executing the projects. "The Generalitat provides the resources, and the municipalities know best where the needs lie. This cooperation is what turns aid into useful work," stated the minister.
