The Consell has approved the contracting of conservation, adaptation, and maintenance works for the Generalitat's public infrastructures in the province of Castellón, with an estimated investment of 103.7 million euros for the 2026-2030 period.

The aim of this action is to guarantee the continuity of maintenance services for roads, highways, and other regional-owned infrastructures once the current contract expires. This seeks to ensure the proper functioning of the network, improve user safety, and maintain the provision of public services linked to these infrastructures.
The contract will be awarded in three lots: Castellón North, Castellón Centre, and Castellón South. Each of these lots will include road infrastructures, cycle paths, cycle routes, and greenways within the assigned territorial area, as specified in the tender documents.
The execution period is set for 48 months, with an estimated value of 103.7 million euros. The base bidding amount is 93 million euros, including VAT.
Among the highlighted works in the new contract are the construction of roundabouts to improve road safety, slope stabilization, and road surface renewal. These interventions are part of a strategy to conserve and improve provincial public infrastructures, with a special focus on safety, network functionality, and adapting roads to mobility needs.
The new contract will continue improvements already carried out in recent years, such as the removal of rocks and remodeling of the CV-320 in Alfondeguilla, the road safety improvement of the CV-222 between Betxí, Vila-real, and Alquerías del Niño Perdido, or the renewal of the central loop of the Castellón Tram. With this authorization, the Generalitat reinforces the investment allocated to conserve and adapt regional public infrastructures in the province over the next four years.
