Villarreal CF has formally requested LaLiga to play their first three matches of the upcoming championship as visitors in order to complete remodeling works at La Cerámica stadium.

The club explained that improvement works are taking place both inside and outside the venue located in Vila-real. The main goal of these actions is to reinforce stand safety and optimize access for fans, ensuring a more agile and orderly distribution of public flows on match days.
In addition to interventions in access areas, the club is building a new dressing room outside the stadium and adapting the space previously occupied by the old one. These reforms aim to modernize facilities and adapt them to current professional competition requirements, improving spaces for players and coaching staff.
According to current planning, the club expects the works not to be fully completed by the start of the season. To avoid interference with the progress of the works and ensure the stadium meets all necessary conditions, Villarreal has asked competition officials to assign their first three matches away from home.
