The Castellón Provincial Council, chaired by Marta Barrachina, has announced an investment of 700,000 euros for the comprehensive renovation of the Sant Blai Sports Center in Burriana, aiming to modernize this facility built in the 1980s and adapt it to current needs.

During a visit to the facilities alongside the mayor of Burriana, Jorge Monferrer, the provincial leader verified the state of the pavilion and highlighted the need for an intervention to improve its functionality and ensure its optimal use.
The project includes the elimination of architectural barriers, which will allow access for people with reduced mobility and enable the hosting of official competitions, something currently not feasible due to the venue's shortcomings.
Additionally, work will be carried out on the renovation of the facade, access points, stands, changing rooms, and other services of the complex, ensuring compliance with current accessibility regulations.
The Sant Blai pavilion is a key facility in the municipality, used by numerous clubs and disciplines such as basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, Valencian pilota, futnet, and pickleball, in addition to hosting activities for seniors and municipal sports programs. The action will restore the venue's full functionality and improve usage conditions for residents, increasing sports activity and participation.
The investment will be possible thanks to an agreement of 450,000 euros along with the contribution from the Impulsa Plan of the Provincial Council. Barrachina emphasized that these types of projects reflect the institution's commitment to improving infrastructure in municipalities.
For his part, Mayor Jorge Monferrer praised the support from the Provincial Council, noting that the renovation will allow for modern, accessible, and inclusive facilities, in line with the needs of the citizenry.
