The capital of Plana Baixa first achieved these three awards in 2025 and has revalidated them this year by meeting the criteria of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), through the Association of Environmental Education and Consumer (ADEAC). The City Council emphasizes that these recognitions certify the environmental and tourist excellence of the entire city's coastline.
With the attainment of the three Blue Flags, Burriana once again positions itself as a tourist benchmark on the Mediterranean coast, coinciding with the start of the summer season and the increase in visitors.
In addition to the Blue Flags, the council maintains other distinctions such as the Qualitur Flags along the entire coast, the Ecoplayas Flags at Arenal and Malvarrosa, and the Blue Trail of the Clot de la Mare de Déu natural park. These awards value aspects such as environmental conservation, accessibility, recycling, the inclusion of people with functional diversity, and the protection of the municipality's natural and landscape spaces.
“"The hoisting of these three Blue Flags officially marks the beginning of a season in which our coastline once again shines with the highest guarantees of quality and safety for residents and tourists."
“"This achievement demonstrates the daily commitment of municipal services to maintain accessible, clean beaches that are deeply respectful of our natural environment."
