The Burriana City Council continues with its plan to improve municipal sports infrastructure by renovating the parquet floor in the La Bosca indoor football pavilion. This intervention has addressed the deterioration present in the sides and various areas of the playing surface, ensuring optimal conditions for the clubs and Municipal Sports Schools that use the facility daily.
The work, with an investment of 8,107 euros, involved removing 80 square meters of parquet severely damaged by accumulated moisture. In its place, new wood has been installed over a moisture-resistant underlay designed to prevent future damage and extend the material's lifespan. Local clubs have already had the chance to use the new surface during matches played last weekend.
Furthermore, the project included the technical repair of several sections within the playing field, where a professional sports varnish was applied to unify the floor and eliminate any risk of unevenness. This improvement complements the comprehensive modernization of La Bosca, which recently saw the installation of LED lighting—resulting in 65% energy savings—and roof repairs following an investment of 18,000 euros to tackle a persistent 15-year-old leak problem.
This commitment to sports and facility maintenance is further exemplified by the upcoming comprehensive renovation of the Sant Blai sports center. Thanks to an investment of 700,000 euros from the Provincial Council of Castellón and the Plan Impulsa, changing rooms, facades will be modernized, and architectural barriers will be removed in a facility serving over 1,000 users weekly.
“"This intervention on the parquet was a priority to guarantee the safety of our athletes and address the damage caused by humidity and leaks."
The Sports Councilor, Fran Capdevila, highlighted that this intervention on the parquet was a priority to guarantee the safety of our athletes and address the damage caused by humidity and leaks. Capdevila also emphasized that the governing team continues to work on modernizing all our facilities, as demonstrated by the investment in Sant Blai and the improvements in La Bosca, ensuring that Burriana's clubs have the best possible spaces to compete.
