Burriana held its 2026 May Crosses awards ceremony yesterday, an edition marked by the recognition of the artisanal talent and effort of the local fallas commissions, with new economic provisions.

Falla Barri l’Escorredor was the main protagonist in the adult category, securing both the first prize and the award for the best Cross. Falla Barri La Bosca took the second prize, while Falla Barri València obtained the third.
In the children's competition, Falla Barri La Bosca reaffirmed its success by winning the first prize and the award for the best children's Cross. Falla Barri l’Escorredor secured the second prize, and Falla Barri València, the third.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Burriana, Jorge Monferrer Daudí, the Councilor for Fallas, Paloma Boix, the 2026 Fallas Queens, Laura Sendra and Ana Olivas, and members of the municipal corporation.
As a notable novelty this year, the city council has increased the prize money for the May Crosses and introduced, for the first time, an economic prize for the best Cross, in both the adult and children's categories.

"The commissions make an immense effort every year and the City Council had to rise to the occasion, so this increase in the prize money is direct support for their work."

Paloma Boix · Councilor for Fallas

"Providing economic prizes for the best cross of Burriana and the best children's cross for the first time is a way to reward the highest excellence of the festival and give economic relief to the falleros, who are the ones who make this Festival of Regional Tourist Interest great."

Paloma Boix · Councilor for Fallas
