The Burriana City Council has gathered new resident proposals to improve mobility, urban services, and future planning for the Port of Burriana, during a meeting with residents of the maritime area.

Mayor Jorge Monferrer Daudí held a meeting with residents of the maritime district as part of the municipal initiative "Con mis vecinos" (With my neighbors). The aim was to listen to citizens' demands and address the current situation of the neighborhood, as well as pending and future projects.
Residents presented the council with various daily needs, particularly concerning parking, road safety, public transport, and facilities. One of the issues raised was the study of new parking solutions to balance residential use with the arrival of visitors on holidays, given the strong tourist pressure during certain periods.
Regarding road safety, measures were proposed to reduce traffic speed on the main avenues of the Port, such as the installation of speed bumps. The regulation of scooter and bicycle use on sidewalks was also discussed to improve coexistence with pedestrians, along with optimizing timetable information at bus stops.
Other topics addressed included the control of tourist apartment licenses and the preservation of the environmental surroundings of the maritime district, concerns linked to the area's growth and transformation.
Regarding pending projects, residents requested information on the works for the wastewater treatment plant and Poniente beach, and raised the feasibility of a direct access from the shipyard to El Arenal beach. Furthermore, the future creation of a multipurpose room for neighborhood and sports activities was proposed, inspired by similar spaces in other areas of Burriana.
Mayor Jorge Monferrer assured that "the municipal executive will study all the proposals put forward by the residents." The "Con mis vecinos" initiative involves weekly meetings to gather ideas and identify shortcomings that can improve citizens' quality of life.
