The proposal to be debated in this Thursday's Plenary session on June 4th involves the transfer of administrative management necessary to tender the construction of 41 public protection housing units on a municipal plot located on Roberto Roselló street. This initiative is part of the agreement signed between the Generalitat Valenciana and the Federació Valenciana de Municipis i Províncies (FVMP) to increase the supply of protected housing.
The project would be developed on a municipal plot of 759 square meters acquired by the City Council from Sareb. The plot meets the requirements to be incorporated into the Generalitat's VIVE Plan, a program aimed at promoting the construction of new protected housing.
The proposal suggests entrusting the project's processing to the Entitat Valenciana de Vivenda i Sòl (EVHA), an entity dependent on the Generalitat specialized in the promotion and management of public housing. If the Plenary approves the agreement, the EVHA will assume the tendering, awarding, and monitoring of the works, with the aim of streamlining administrative procedures and reducing execution times.
As explained by the Councilor for Urban Planning, Mario Trullen, the decision responds to the desire to accelerate the project's implementation through an administration that has the necessary technical and administrative resources.
The construction of these 41 housing units is in addition to other municipal initiatives aimed at encouraging affordable housing, such as the recent 50% reduction in the Tax on Constructions, Installations, and Works (ICIO) approved by the council for protected housing projects. The governing team believes these actions will contribute to expanding the available residential supply, especially for young people facing difficulties accessing the real estate market.
