The city of Dénia launches its new municipal urban bus service, BusDénia, on June 15th. This transport system features a total of five lines, new vehicles, and an improved hourly frequency. To promote its launch, the Dénia City Council will offer free rides on all lines from June 15th to June 30th.
Starting July 1st, the standard ticket fare will be 1.65 euros, according to rates set by the Generalitat Valenciana. There will be special fares for large families and special large families, as well as for individuals over 65 years old. Additionally, transport passes for 10 and 40 journeys, and 10-journey passes for those over 65 and under 18 will be available. The issuance cost for all passes will be 2 euros.
The 10-Journey Pass can be purchased at the tobacconists located in Plaça Jaume I and on the Carretera de Les Marines (next to Entrador de Llobell), as well as directly on board the bus. The 40-Journey Pass, on the other hand, will only be available on board the vehicle and will be valid for 90 days from the purchase date.
Individuals over 65 and under 18 will benefit from a 10-Journey Pass at a reduced cost of 8.50€. To facilitate the acquisition of these passes, the Dénia City Council will set up an extraordinary issuance point at the Centro Social, open from June 8th to June 30th, between 9 AM and 1 PM. Applicants can visit without an appointment and identify themselves with their DNI, NIE, or passport. For minors, the parent or legal guardian must provide proof of this status along with their identification document. Pass usage is personal and non-transferable.
For pass recharges, three options have been established. Recharges can be made at any time, any day of the week, at the automated vending machines located in the port of Dénia (next to the Museu de la Mar) and at the José Moncho Ferrer bus station, operational from the second week of June. These machines will only accept credit card payments. Passes can also be recharged directly on the bus, using a device inside the vehicles. From September onwards, recharges will also be available through the official website and the BusDénia app. Recharges will not incur any additional cost.
The Dénia City Council will launch an information campaign next week to familiarize citizens with the new BusDénia service. Starting June 8th, an informational guide will be distributed in various municipal departments, including the City Hall, Centro Social, Youth Department, Municipal Market, Citizen Service Office (OAC), Social Services, Juan Chabás Library, Casa de Cultura, Urban Planning, and the Tourist Offices at Plaça Oculista Buigues and Plaça del Consell. Additionally, an information bus will be set up at the Torrecremada market and another in front of the Centro Social throughout the week (from 9 AM to 1 PM) to handle inquiries and process pass recharges. Complete information will be available on the service's website starting next Monday. Finally, the service concessionaire will provide a customer service phone number, 900 13 00 14, from June 15th, operational Monday to Sunday from 8 AM to 10 PM.
