The Burriana City Council has begun the installation of 84 new side-loading containers in various parts of the municipality, aiming to improve waste management and reduce the presence of bags outside containers.

This initiative, part of the renewal of collection points promoted by the council in collaboration with the concessionaire company Fobesa, has started in areas such as El Plà and Plaza de la Generalitat. The project includes the creation and renovation of 21 container islands distributed throughout the city.
The new equipment offers greater storage capacity, with 2 m³ containers for organic waste and 3.2 m³ for general waste, packaging, and paper. Additionally, their design makes it difficult to extract bags, contributing to improved cleanliness and sanitation at collection points.

"This renovation represents another step forward in improving waste management and the aesthetic integration of urban infrastructure into the daily life of the municipality."

Mario Trullen · Councillor for Public Works
The action responds to the council's commitment within the framework of the latest contract extension for the service, with the goal of standardizing the urban image and strengthening selective collection, especially in the most central areas. The intervention extends to locations such as the Market, San Blai, Escorredor, Camí d’Onda, Plaza 9 d’Octubre, Menéndez y Pelayo, and Avenida Mediterránea, among others. Installation at Terraza Payà remains pending and will be carried out once paving works on San Vicent Street are completed.
