Burriana will once again become a benchmark for professional dance in Spain with the third edition of the ‘Danza: Aquí y Ahora’ gala. The event will take place at the Payà Theater and will gather more than 90 dancers from some of the country's most distinguished conservatories.
Organized by the Department of Culture along with the Municipal Center of the Arts, the gala will be held on May 23rd at 8:00 PM, offering nearly 90 minutes of performances including Classical Dance, Contemporary Dance, Neoclassical, Spanish Dance, and Flamenco.
Participants include students from renowned institutions such as Larreal (Royal Professional Dance Conservatory Mariemma of Madrid), the Carmen Amaya Professional Dance Conservatory, the Fortea Professional Dance Conservatory, the Institut del Teatre Professional Dance Conservatory of Barcelona, the Professional Dance Conservatory of Valencia, the Professional Dance Conservatory of Riba-roja, and the Professional Dance Conservatory of Castelló. The Spanish Dance Choreographic Workshop of the Municipal Center of the Arts of Burriana will open the show.
The program will feature pieces by recognized choreographers such as Antonio Najarro, Antonio Pérez, Alejandro Molinero, Carlos Rodríguez, Ángel Rojas, Jean-Guillaume Bart, and Crystal Pite. Many of the participating performers are already pursuing professional careers, making the gala a showcase for emerging talent.
The Councilor for Culture, Alejandro Clausell, highlighted that «Burriana is consolidating itself with this gala as a national reference for dance, bringing together young dancers who stand out for their high artistic level». The direction of the Municipal Center of the Arts has thanked the participating conservatories for their involvement.
Tickets for the gala are free and can be obtained through the Entrada Directa platform, or collected at Buraudio (Escorredor street, 58) on Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and at the Payà Theater box office one hour before the show.
