Construction work on the new Jaume I High School in Burriana is progressing, with particular attention to the training modules wing, workshops for Fallas artists, gymnasium, and cafeteria.

Construction work on the new Jaume I High School in Burriana is advancing significantly, currently focusing on the building's wing designated for training modules. This area now clearly shows the vocational workshops, including large spaces for Fallas artists, as well as the gymnasium and cafeteria areas.
Facades and interior walls are being constructed with facing brick, and the framework for windows and exterior sunshades is being installed. The former janitor's house has been demolished, and the ground floor slabs of both wings (baccalaureate and vocational training) have been laid to improve rainwater drainage. These architectural solutions are shaping the appearance of what will be one of the largest educational centers in the Valencian Community by surface area.
Administratively, the Burriana council has registered invoices for the work certifications under the Plan Edificant. These expenses, covering work carried out between November 2025 and April 2026, include the material execution by Orthem Servicios y Actuaciones Ambientales, S.A.U., and the site management, installations, and health and safety coordination by Santatecla Arquitectos, S.L.
This center, with a global budget exceeding 22 million euros, will feature 24 ESO classrooms, 6 Baccalaureate classrooms, and 7 vocational training classrooms, in addition to a sports area. The completion of this project, scheduled for the 2027-2028 academic year, is a top priority for the municipal government and the Generalitat Valenciana, as approximately 1,200 students are currently studying in provisional facilities. The new building will be notable for its energy efficiency and state-of-the-art technological resources.

"The progress of this work brings us every day closer to settling a historical debt with the students and their families, who have been studying in temporary classrooms for too long."

Alejandro Clausell · Education Councilor

"This government team has maximally accelerated the timelines to see the future workshops and classrooms being built that will form a high school worthy of the families and teachers."
