A man drowned early Saturday morning in the Castellón municipality of Peñíscola. According to the Provincial Firefighters Consortium, an alert was issued regarding a male in distress in the water.

Firefighters from the Baix Maestrat station in Benicarló were dispatched for his rescue. Upon arrival, the man was already out of the water, situated on some rocks.

The emergency responders evacuated him urgently to the roadside. After assessing his condition, they commenced CPR resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of medical personnel, who continued the efforts.

Regrettably, despite all efforts, the individual's death was ultimately confirmed.
