Aitor Moll, CEO of Prensa Ibérica, today called for increased support for Castellón's industry, highlighting the urgent need to address labor shortages and digitalization.

During the 29th 'Empresa del Año' Awards ceremony hosted by Periódico Mediterráneo in Castellón, Aitor Moll championed industry as an essential sector and stressed the necessity for administrative responses commensurate with current challenges. The gala gathered institutional, economic, and social representatives from the province.
Moll warned that the energy transition and geopolitical instability are particularly impacting the province, with strategic sectors like ceramics and agriculture facing escalating energy costs. This situation limits their capacity for investment in technology and innovation, despite many Castellón-based companies being European leaders in R&D&I.
The CEO identified two critical issues for the province's future: a shortage of skilled labor and the imperative to accelerate company digitalization in the face of AI advancements. He also criticized excessive bureaucracy, which delays projects and investments, citing the Mediterranean Corridor's delays as an example.
Finally, Moll advocated for a balanced future for Castellón, emphasizing the importance of all its regions and cautioning against a province progressing at two different speeds, divided between the coast and the interior.
