This intervention, awarded for 8,107 euros to the company Decorexpo 10 S.L., involves removing 80 square meters of parquet that was severely damaged by humidity. The primary cause of this deterioration was leaks that affected many public buildings at the beginning of the legislative term.
In its place, new sports parquet flooring has been installed, including an anti-humidity blanket. This preventive measure is crucial to prevent future damage and ensure the material's durability, thus offering a safe and suitable space for sports practice.
In addition to the parquet replacement, the project includes the repair of several damaged sections within the playing area. In these zones, new wood will be laid and then varnished with professional sports lacquer, unifying the surface and eliminating any risk of irregularities on the floor.
This investment complements a comprehensive modernization process of the La Bosca Pavilion. Recently, the lighting system was fully renovated with LED technology, achieving energy savings of 65%. The roof was also repaired with an investment of 18,000 euros, putting an end to a historical problem of leaks that had persisted for over 15 years.
“"Step by step, we will ensure that our sports facilities are up to the standard our residents deserve. In just two and a half years, we have made an effort to recover sports facilities and grassroots sports in our city."
It is worth noting that the Diputación de Castellón also announced a 700,000 euro investment for the comprehensive renovation of the Sant Blai sports center. This ambitious project, made possible by a 450,000 euro agreement and the contribution from the Impulsa Plan, will eliminate architectural barriers, modernize changing rooms and facades, and adapt the venue to host official competitions. The intervention in Sant Blai, a pavilion built in the 1980s, will benefit over 1,000 weekly users of disciplines such as basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, and Valencian pilota.
