The Burriana City Council has begun renovating 21 waste collection points with the installation of 84 new high-capacity side-loading containers, an action aimed at reducing the presence of bags outside deposit points and improving cleanliness in various areas of the municipality.

The work started this Friday in El Plà and Plaza de la Generalitat, as part of an intervention carried out by Fobesa, the company awarded the waste collection service. This action includes new equipment with greater storage capacity, especially for organic waste, and a design intended to make it difficult to extract bags and waste, which contributes to improving the sanitation and image of these spaces.
According to the council, the new containers for organic waste have a capacity of 2 cubic meters, while those for general waste, packaging, and paper reach 3.2 cubic meters.
The measure responds to the commitment made by the City Council within the framework of the latest extension of the service contract, with the aim of reinforcing the image of collection points located in central areas, giving them a more uniform appearance, and expanding the capacity for collecting organic and selective waste in locations that needed it.
The renovation will reach 21 points in the municipality, some of which are newly created. Planned locations include El Plà, Avenida Mediterránea, Plaza de la Generalitat, Escorredor, the Market area, San Blai, Poeta Calzada, San Martín, Menéndez y Pelayo, Buen Suceso, Plaza 9 d’Octubre, Canalejas, Camí d’Onda, and Terraza Payà.
Over the next few days, the company will continue with the replacement and creation of new points until all planned locations are completed. Only the installation in Terraza Payà will remain pending, which will be carried out once the imminent pavement remodeling works on Sant Vicent Street are finished.

"With this renovation, the council and the awarded company Fobesa have taken another step forward in improving waste management and the aesthetic integration of urban infrastructure into the daily life of the municipality."
