The Oropesa City Council has launched Health Week, an initiative running until Sunday aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and the physical and emotional well-being of citizens.
The initiative, organized by the Health and Social Services departments, takes place under the slogan Take care of yourself, take care of everyone. The program includes conferences, practical workshops, and participation spaces open to the public, mainly held on the second floor of the Municipal Library, with the collaboration of health professionals, associations, and specialized entities.
The first day began with a talk on acupressure and traditional Chinese medicine, followed by a presentation on anxiety associated with caring for dependent individuals and tools for emotional balance. Topics also included myths and realities of aging and responsible use of the healthcare system.
This Friday, the program focuses on active aging, with activities organized by the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients (A.F.A.). Additionally, a practical workshop on first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) will be held.
As a closing event, this Sunday, the Plaza Mayor will host the Health Fair from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This event will feature informational booths and educational activities focused on promoting healthy habits.
“
"Health does not depend solely on healthcare, but also on prevention, information, and the habits we maintain daily. With this week, we aim to bring resources and knowledge to residents to help them improve their quality of life."
“
"This initiative focuses on the integral well-being of individuals, addressing crucial issues such as active aging, mental health, support for caregivers, and prevention."
“
"We are working to improve the healthcare area in our municipality. This fair reinforces our commitment and dedication to a clear objective: to help with something as important as health."
The City Council thus reaffirms its commitment to promoting health, prevention, and citizen well-being, by organizing activities that contribute to building a more informed, active, and healthy community.
