Castellón musician Miguel Verchili celebrates the eighteenth anniversary of the song "Ana (en el alambre)" with the release of a new music video evoking the world of circus and Mexico, and previews new compositions.

Eighteen years have passed since the song "Ana", one of musician Miguel Verchili's most representative pieces, was recorded for Club964's second LP, 'En el alambre', released in 2009. To commemorate this anniversary, Verchili has launched a new music video for the song, titled "Ana (en el alambre)", which he has edited himself. The video's imagery includes references to the world of circus and Mexico, a country the musician deeply admires.
This revival of the song holds added significance, as guitarist Bruno Esteban participated in its original recording. Currently, Miguel Verchili and Bruno Esteban are collaborating on new compositions. The work is being carried out remotely due to Bruno's work with Cirque du Soleil, and in person at Juanki Tomás's La Seta Azul studios in Benicàssim. This new material, which will mark a shift in Verchili's career, is expected to be released after the summer of 2026.
The story behind "Ana" dates back thirty years. According to Verchili, the idea stemmed from conversations with a friend who expressed anxiety about her future, shaped by others' expectations, and nostalgia for the past, while not fully enjoying the present. "I composed the song with an acoustic guitar and my voice," he comments. The song was previously performed with Popeyes, a band preceding Club964, but the version closest to the original is found on the album ‘En el alambre’.
Verchili fondly recalls the original recording at La Seta Azul studios in Benicàssim. "The song started with an arpeggio that ran through the entire piece," he explains. Alfonso Pachés contributed beautiful drumming, and Michel Llorens handled the keyboard arrangements. During the recording session, Bruno Esteban arrived to work on some musical projects with Juanki Tomás. They connected instantly, and Esteban enhanced the original idea with his guitar contributions, while Rosa Meseguer provided very fitting vocals. The result was one of Verchili's most complete tracks.
Now, eighteen years later, Miguel Verchili and Bruno Esteban are collaborating again, albeit in different roles. The release of the music video "Ana (en el alambre)" serves to bridge the fond memories of that Club964 era with the hopeful present, now under his surname, which he has used since the album ‘Desde el destierro’ (2015). Interestingly, "Ana" has always accompanied Verchili, who in 2024 revisited it for his album 'Distancias', transforming it into an electronic format with arrangements by Alfonso Pachés and changing the subtitle to "Ana (en las distancias)".
