The fire that broke out on Tuesday afternoon at an almond warehouse in Vall d'Alba, in La Plana Alta, is progressing favorably and has been contained, although firefighters continue to work on its extinction.

The blaze, which originated at the Importaco company's facilities, started early on Tuesday afternoon, around two o'clock. The rapid intervention of firefighters allowed the perimeter to be secured to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring businesses. No human casualties occurred thanks to the evacuation plan implemented by the company.
The most complicated part of the extinction effort is inside the burnt warehouse, an almond production factory, where the virulence of the flames has caused extensive damage. Part of the structure already collapsed last night, and there is still a risk of further collapse, according to sources from the Provincial Fire Consortium.

"Firefighters are working from outside the premises, which cover an area of about 10,000 square meters, and anticipate that it will be difficult to reach the center of the fire."

This morning, the teams on the ground have been reduced to five, after nine were deployed the previous evening. The fire generated a large plume of smoke visible from several municipalities in the interior of the province of Castellón.
