The countdown has begun for one of the most emblematic mountain races of the summer in the province of Castellón. The XXIX Vistabella Mountain Race will celebrate its nineteenth edition on August 2nd and will open registrations on Thursday, June 11th at 6:30 PM.
Consolidated as a benchmark event in the mountain racing calendar, the race will once again bring together hundreds of runners in a privileged setting: the Penyagolosa Natural Park. This scenario, combined with the welcoming nature of Vistabella del Maestrat and the involvement of the entire municipality, makes each edition a special experience for both participants and their companions.
The main distance will maintain its demanding course of 28 kilometers and 1,500 meters of positive elevation gain. A route that combines fast sections with technical and challenging ascents, especially in the second half of the course, where the mountain makes the difference and forces participants to manage their energy until the finish line.
The organization will once again offer a maximum of 500 bibs for this main event. This limited number has generated significant interest among trail running enthusiasts in previous editions, so high demand is expected from the moment registrations open.
The registration period will also open for the Youth race, aimed at runners between 14 and 17 years old. This event will feature a 10.5-kilometer circuit with 720 meters of positive elevation gain, offering younger generations the opportunity to compete in a safe mountain environment adapted to their category.
The Vistabella Mountain Race will be part of the Unitrail circuit this season, which brings together some of the most outstanding races in the region. The 28-kilometer absolute race will be eligible for points in the Absolute, U23, and U20 categories; while the Youth distance will be integrated into the Junior category, allowing younger runners to also compete for circuit points.
Furthermore, the race will once again be one of the scoring events for the Lliga de Curses per Muntanya Castelló Nord, a circuit that connects different municipalities in the interior of the province through mountain sports and contributes to highlighting the natural and cultural heritage of these towns.
Once again, Vistabella is preparing to welcome runners, families, and fans for a day that will combine sport, nature, and the unique atmosphere that characterizes one of the most distinctive events on the provincial calendar.
